3 day workshop in New Orleans
From a post by dancer, Debbie Smith, who attended last year:
"Tamalyn Dallal's New Orleans Intensive was one of the best things I did last year.
First of all, I love Tamalyn and the way she thinks about, talks about and teaches movement- and she is a vast repository of information and experience from her world travels.
Second, she incorporated not just Middle Eastern culture but also the cultures that are part of New Orleans by having guest artists. Last year it was a local traditional dancer, a zydeco musician, and an Arabic musician.
Third, New Orleans is a magical place and the venue where the workshops take place is an absolutely beautiful church that has been converted to a performance/event venue. Out of the 15 or so participants I had only met two before so I got to meet dancers from all over the US.
It was a great reset for me in several ways, and this was one of the first things I put on my calendar for this year. Highly recommended."
